Italian jazz stars 10" 1950´s

On Columbia came this beautiful piece, laminated 10" and with fabolous art sleeve.

I just had to eventually display this one , one of the finest swedish jazz ep´s from the 60´s, what a great sleeve and it is always nice when it includes non-lp tracks.

Oscar Rocchi quintet LP

Fabolus italian jazz LP from 1977, but what strikes me most is the beautiful sleeve, exclusively hard to find in good condition this one.

Ost ep The Boy in the tree

Original music composed by Quincy Jones for the Arne Sucksdorff film The boy in the tree, lovely sleeve and made in Sweden 1961.
In 1965 Sucksdorff made one of my favourite movies, My home is Copacabana wich is a sort of a documentary following some kids living in the streets and beaches of Rio, highly recommended.

N.7 On the jazz 7"

I just bought this lovely little 7", by purchasing this one I supported The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway ( not everyday one support something by buying records), however this I bought mainly for the beautiful sleeve as I am a bit soft for Locomotives,argo and jazz, and if I am tempted someday to go by train I can always listen to it.

Pierre Henry

Last year at antique fair in Utrecht I purchased this great poster 50 X 70 cm for an George Mathieu exhibition in Austria in 1959, what´s most intresting is that apparently electronic music pioneer from France Pierre Henry contributed with the music for this exhibition.
A very nice original piece that must appeal to any Pierre Henry fan.

Don Byas with Norwegian jazz all stars EP

Finally after many years of searching the search is over and I finally managed to find a copy of this very rare Norwegian jazz ep from early 1960´s.

The Frans Wieringa trio LP , Holland late 60´s, fantastic smooth cornet playing by Eduard Block also great version of "night in Tunesia", on the very small label Europa Music.
Another very fine example of Jazz from Holland.

Sven Hessle LP 1967 Private press

It is time to step up in terms of rare, here´s probably one of the rarest swedish jazz records,pressed in very limited edition and distributed by Mr.Hessle himself.

What is most fascinating by this is the sound, it was made and recorded as a studio lp and the sound is as good as on any other Jazz lp, this LP include the brilliant tune "novotek" wich was recorded at the swedish radio, 20 minutes of Coltranish jazz wich makes any jazz player envious.

Since this incredible music is not available to everyone at least you can get this tune "novotek" by buying the recent reissue of Gilbert Holmström LP utan misstankar on cd here: www.moserobie.com

Very nice and exclusive reissue with improved sound of the magnificent Holmström LP wich include novotek as a bonus track.

However the whole Hessle LP should be reissued and earn its recognition as one of Sweden´s finest LP´s of all time.

Chet Baker-Il mio domani ep

Simply one of the most beautiful tunes ever recorded, great vocals in Italian by Chet.
Makes me think of David Lynch kind of Blue velvet/Bobby Vinton for some reason.

My guess is that this little finnish gem is from around 1960, very intresting piece mostly because Christian Schwindt plays the drums.

Eje Thelin Concert poster Gyllene Cirkeln 1964

50cm X 70cm Original screenprinted concert poster for Gyllene Cirkeln 1964, I will bring a couple of these originals all framed in nice black frames to the record fair in Solna/Stockholm February, anyone intrested in purchasing one could reserve in advance by contacting me.
This poster was made in at most 50 copies and is a treasure for any jazz collector, so beautiful on the wall.

A totally new discovery for me,this screenposter made for Gyllene cirkeln in the early 60´s is one of few I have not seen before.

Carsten Meinert Quartet To you LP 1968

The first time I heard this danish LP ,about ten years ago it was like a revelation for me,it is still one of the best jazz records from Europe and I cherish this one a lot.
Musically it reminds me a lot of Coltrane and P.Sanders however it is so powerful that it just stands well alone as a landmark in Danish jazz.
For the collector I can reveil that there are 2 different pressing, first Mr.Meinert pressed it on his own label M.S. records and the label is red, more solid vinyl, second pressing possibly the same year is on blue MS/ spectator label. The first red label is almost impossible to find and he did not press many on that one.
Need I tell you that the sleeve is amazing?, it does not really look like a jazz lp more like an early progressive lp.

This U.K. press is pretty rare and the sleeve is amazing, top jazz from Art Blakey with Barney Wilen.

Finally I got the picture for one of my top wants, very rare dutch only 7" wich was featured in the dutch film Een ochtend van zes wekend.

Very early 60´s drawing from my father, I guess the model was my mother.

When seeing this clip I got a flashback from early 70´s that I saw it on swedish television at that time.
Just amazing play by this swedish group and Monica is so cool behind the hammond.
